Senate special committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a visit to Gwadar on Wednesday expressed the confidence that the project will boost economic activities in the entire region. The twelve-member committee led by Senator Taj Haider visited Gwadar Emergency Medical Care Center which is being constructed by China Red-cross Foundation at Gwadar Port.

Chairman Gwadar Port Authority, Dostain Jamaldini briefing the delegation said that CPEC projects include roads, power projects, Railway tracks and other economic schemes. He said that in the first phase power projects and National Highway projects are being completed while in the second phase industrial schemes will be initiated. Senator Taj Haider said CPEC project will help provide jobs to locals.
